If you want to perform at work, you not only need heaps of knowledge and experience; you need to have a healthy body and mind. Our mission: become office warriors through yoga.
Why we do yoga at the office
Yoga is a good way to work on both the body and the mind. It prevents and manages poor musculoskeletal health and helps keeping a sense of calm. There’s just so many benefits, for example yoga can:
- Reduce stress
- Increase focus
- Increase peace of mind
- Improve posture
- Reduce back pain
- Boost energy levels
- Improve your mood
Don’t be put off by the unpronounceable Sanskrit names (Virabhadrasana? Warrior pose!) and come combat stress in our yoga class!

Everyone can be a yogi
The great thing about yoga is that it’s accessible to all levels. You don’t need to be a #fitgirl to explore the poses, and you don’t need to be on a journey to enlightenment to enjoy the benefits. So basically, anyone in our office can join. Our 2018 Christmas gift included a beautiful yoga mat (with our logo of course), so we’re all set for our monthly yoga class.

Yoga with colleagues, awkward?
In the first class, it felt a bit weird being in Downwards Facing Dog with colleagues. That’s when the importance of a good yoga teacher shows clearly: our teacher is able to let us focus on ourselves, and not on how well our neighbour is doing, or what he/she is thinking of us. They don’t really care. Because guess what? They are having their own struggle with the pose and are focusing on themselves too.

The yoga class at work is a pretty safe place actually. As its open to all levels, and the idea is to get everyone experience the benefits, there’s lots of room for laughter, questions and bonding. Because yes, we are doing it for our health and sanity, but it’s also an amazing way to “work” with your colleagues.
Namaste.
