Great! You are considering, or maybe you are already in the running for, a Tech Lead position at Emakina. You’re probably curious what to expect and what the process looks like. You’ve come to the right place.
I want to give you a better understanding of the application process for our Tech Lead position. At Emakina we have multiple contact moments during the recruitment process to make sure that you have all the necessary information about us as a company and the position itself.
Step 1 : Recruiter interview
After your application or first contact with one of our sourcers/recruiters, you can expect an email asking your availability for a phone call. This step is 30 to 45 minutes phone or skype call with one of our recruiters. During this call, we would like to learn more about you, and your previous experience, but it’s also meant for you to learn more about the role and Emakina. If we’re both happy about the call, we’ll continue to step 2.
Step 2 : Cultural fit interview
Awesome, our recruiter already thinks you’re a good match and you moved to our next step which is an interview at our office (or video call if you live abroad) with one of our Tech Leads. During this call, our Tech Lead looks for a cultural fit with our company values and match with what this role requires. So all you have to do is just be you, everything will be fine!
Step 3: Technical assessment
For this specific technical role, a technical assessment takes place. After your call with one of our Tech Leads, you will receive the link for the assessment from them. You finish it on your own time at home which usually takes about 1,5 to 2 hours. We use this assessment to see how you solve problems, learn about your proficiency level of stacks and frameworks and how you connect your code knowledge to the business.
Once we receive your assessment result, you have another talk (in person or by video call) to review the results with our Tech Lead. Not that we want to focus on every detail of the assessment, but we do want to learn more about why you made certain decisions or choose certain methods.
Step 4: In depth interview
Phew! You made it here, already congrats for passing the technical assessment! You will have an in depth interview with the hiring manager, our Head of Development. If you’re not located in The Netherlands, after this stage we will fly you in Amsterdam to meet in person. This is usually followed by a meeting with one of our board members. They will share more information on the future and strategy of the company, so you are aware of what’s ahead.
Everyone likes to be involved as they are curious towards the next talent that will join the company. We value each other’s feedback so sometimes it takes a little bit to gather all point of views.
Step 5: The offer
